Tribute to Wil Verhoeven, 1958 - 2024

We were thinking of Wil this evening and the lovely times our families shared in Westport

Deeply saddened to hear of Wil's passing. I remember him as a wonderful teacher and supervisor. My sincere condolences.

Wil was my teacher in Groningen (together with Amanda), and I was so very sad to hear this news. His teachings had a profound influence in my life, and I wish I still had a chance to let him know. I will never forget him reading a passage of Thoreau's Walden Pond during my graduation--truly kind and thoughtful. Rest in Peace, Wil, and I'm grateful for having known you. Wishing Amanda and family all the strength through this difficult time.

Very shocked to hear the news about Wil’s passing. Wil supervised my MA and PhD theses, so if I had an intellectual father figure, it was Wil. My heartfelt sympathies to Amanda and Wil’s family and loved ones.
